Private Event
What happens if a brand like Swarovski meets a starchitect such as Rem Koolhaas?
The result is Luminaire, the strikingly illuminated entryway to Monditalia, one of three events that make up the ambitious presentation of the 14th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, curated by the renowned Dutch architect.
Measuring nearly 6 meters tall and 20 meters wide, the installation recalls the majestic Renaissance facades of Venetian palazzos, and is composed of thousands of light bulbs and over 15 kg of Swarovski Crystal Rocks.
Definitely bright and sparkling was also the drinks reception and dinner at Palazzo Polignac, hosted by the Swarovski Foundation in honour of the architect. The event brought together some of the most famous and influential names in architecture, art and design.
Although it was established only one year ago, the Swarovski Foundation is already very active and full of plans for the future. For its events in Italy, it is supported by a major advertising agency in Milan, of which Nexa is a long-established partner.
Once again, Nexa rose to the occasion, specifically focusing on the hostess, security and logistics services.
This fruitful collaboration began in June of 2013 with the birth of the Swarovski Foundation, when, as a first project, it presented Perspectives by John Pawson, an installation incorporating the largest concave meniscus crystal lens ever commissioned, which created a dramatic optical experience that brought new light to the interior of the Basilica di San Giorgio on the occasion of the 2013 Art Biennale.
It is a well-known tenet that you do not change a winning team: Nexa was once again called in to coordinate logistics in April, at the conclusion of the restoration work of Palladio's statue of St. George, finally returned to the city in all its splendour, and repositioned on the dome of the Basilica of San Giorgio.
Light, art and culture are the leitmotiv that accompanies the projects of the Swarovski Foundation in Venice. We just have to wait for the next one!
