T Fondaco - Grand Opening of the new luxury retail destination in Venice
Opening
At the time of the Serenissima, the ancient Fontego dei Tedeschi (the building dates back to the thirteenth century) was a trading post and warehouse for German merchants in Venice. Now, the former Post Office building has been restored and revitalized after years of neglect, and has become the new center of luxury in Venice and the first store in Europe opened by DFS Group (Duty Free Shop).
7,000 square meters, 60 boutiques, 450 windows, 4 lifts, a fire-engine red escalator called the "red carpet", 1 panoramic terrace with a 360 degree panoramic view from Venice to the Alps. T Fontego ("T" stands for Traveller) wants to become the new high-end shopping destination, and will host a variety of cultural programming and art exhibitions with international appeal.
The Nexa team was at the opening of T Fondaco. We were the DFS team consultants, we welcomed them into the city and accompanied them to discover the secrets of Venice, the best restaurants, the traditions and curiosities of the city. We were entrusted with two projects for DFS: the organization of the general logistics of the event - all transfers from the arrival terminal and travel around the city - the creation of a tour program specifically created around the event concept, which was Luxury and Commerce.
So, for the opening party, the 500 guests coming to the Fondaco were transferred by our staff with our luxury water taxis, while in the days of the opening, representatives of the international press and the corporate management of the top brands went around the city and to the lagoon islands to discover places, monuments and unique locations accompanied by our professional guides.
The opening day marked for us the beginning of a fruitful working relationship and a range of exciting activities that we carry out week by week for DFS. Being the reference point in Venice for a company of such worldwide importance continues to be for us a source of inspiration and motivation to improve our organization.
