Your event in the heart of Venice - A unique venue amid priceless art treasures

Venice's oldest cultural institution revives its splendour as a venue for events of the utmost prestige and extraordinary wealth. Are you looking for the perfect venue for your event, only a few steps away from St. Mark’s Square in Venice? We have rediscovered this Renaissance palace where beauty, functionality and hospitality combine to make it a truly special space.

The history of the building has its roots in the 15th century, when it was known as the 'Scuola dei Picai (hanged men)' or 'Scuola della buona morte', a devotional confraternity whose charitable purpose was to spiritually assist prisoners condemned to death by hanging. A devastating fire later destroyed the building, which was subsequently masterfully restructured and decorated with works by great artists such as Tintoretto, Palma il Giovane and Veronese.

The Ateneo Veneto was founded in 1812 with the mission that still inspires it today: to disseminate science, literature and the arts and promote the conservation of the heritage of Venice and her lagoon.

Why choose this venue then? Because the tradition steeped in over two hundred years of existence is an invaluable legacy that enhances every event hosted here. While still at the heart of ongoing debates ranging from the arts to sustainability, from the environment to social issues, all the way to the digital world and the new frontiers of communication, the exquisite halls of the Ateneo Veneto will welcome you into their most authentic beauty.

We love to create experiences that make you feel part of a precious world that fascinates and inspires, which is why we never stop our research and cultivate relationships that enrich our portfolio of venues in Venice. Would you like to be kept up-to-date?
