On September 1st, the day of the Venice Historical Regatta, do not miss the opportunity to admire Red Regatta, the site-specific performance created by American artist Melissa McGill. A collaboration with Associazione Vela al Terzo Venezia, Red Regatta presents a unique opportunity to see 52 traditional lagoon sailboats, each with hand-painted sails in 52 different shades of red, fill the Canale della Giudecca and San Marco basin in a specially choreographed regatta. A tribute to the history of the city, its essential relationship with the sea, but also a call to action that raises awareness about its undermined and fragile balance.
