The popular Feast of the Redeemer will soon be rolling around again, with a programme that fully respects the over 400 year-long tradition of this festival. The Venetians are decorating their boats and terraces in preparation for the big celebrations, making sure they get a prized spot for best view of the midnight fireworks display. On Sunday morning they will cross the votive pontoon bridge to reach the Church of the Redeemer on Giudecca for the traditional religious service while the afternoon will be dedicated to watching the gondola regattas.
