Opening
On April 8th, 2017, the Venice Arsenale hosted the opening party in honour of Damien Hirst.
The internationally acclaimed artist who shocked the art world with his diamond encrusted skull and "pickled" animals preserved in formaldehyde, chose Venice for his come-back exhibition “Treasures from the wreck of the Unbelievable"at Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana, with both exhibition spaces dedicated to a single artist for the first time.
The opening party was staged in the heart of the Venice Arsenale, a symbol of the city for its beauty and history, in one of the Tese where the ships of the Serenissima Republic were built. An essential set-up, a few hundred selected guests including celebrities andsome of the biggest names in the art world, and a focal point provided by the stage for the Red Hot Chili Peppers' exclusive concert.
The event was an out and out success, characterized by elegance and style, and our faultless logistics provided a seamless, wonderful experience for the guests, the result of months-long preparation and excellent relationships with both organizers and partners. The transfers were perfectly timed and our water taxis whizzing by in the Arsenale basins with on board the most elegant guests under the watchful eye of our logistics coordinators were a sight in themselves.
