Inauguration of the Water Terminal and Moving Walkway of the Venice Airport, two major infrastructure projects and a stylish event to match

Opening

The Venice airport inaugurated the new 'Water Terminal' (docking facilities) and Moving Walkway connecting the airport to the lagoon. The two infrastructural works implement services for passengers through functional architectural solutions that combine traditional Venetian building style with the latest technology.

The new 'Water Terminal' is a 5,000 square meter building with 24 berths, and will welcome the flow of passengers arriving by boat. The Moving Walkway is a raised walkway - in the style of the New York High Line - which connects the airport docks to the multi-storey parking garage and the passenger terminal.

We developed the event from A to Z, respecting its concept and style and tailoring each service to the actual needs. Two distinct moments were created to characterize the two infrastructures: the institutional event at the dock and the "creative" event at the walkway.
The dock, on the ground floor, was specifically set up for the presentation of the project to about 400 participants including authorities and guests, and the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure Graziano Delrio.
On the upper level, two groups of musicians accompanied the guests on the walkway and eight beautiful hostesses handed out gadgets specially designed for the event. Between the two moments, as required by any self-respecting inauguration, the "ribbon cutting" and the blessing ceremonies officially opened the new infrastructure.
The closing cocktail, in the inner gardens of the dock and its structures that recall the Venetian palaces, was the cherry on the cake!

It was really rewarding to see the name of Nexa connected to the opening of a work of such great importance and significance.
