Colnaghi is the oldest commercial art gallery in the world, and today a worldwide dealership dedicated exclusively to Old Masters.
About two years ago, the Director of Venetian Heritage introduced us to Colnaghi, who was looking for a Venetian partner for their project in conjunction with the 2019 Biennale.
It was a privilege right from the start to make our relations, knowledge of the city and experience as event organizers in Venice available to Colnaghi.
No sooner said than done! We identified the Abbazia di San Gregorio as the perfect venue for Colnaghi and offered our advice in all the preliminary part of the negotiations, organizing meetings, site inspections and surveys and technical meetings for the preparation of the project.
On May 9, we organized the inaugural event, a cocktail party for 200 guests. After the concert at the Patriarchal Seminary of Venice with Venetian Heritage, the curtain opened on the Abbazia di San Gregorio and on an extraordinary world where the creations of world-famous interior designer Chahan Messinian provide the backdrop to the main display, the works of art spanning the centuries, from master paintings to contemporary design.
“Chahan Gallery x Colnaghi” aims to encapsulate the timeless spirit of the 21stcentury Grand Tourist, in a mix of old and new where the artworks interact with the interiors and help create new connections between visitors, collectors and the work of art itself.
For us, working with Colnaghi was like taking a wonderful journey of knowledge.
