19th International Conference on Credit Risk Evaluation

Conference

The CREDIT conference is an important annual event for economists from all over the world working in the area of credit risk management.

The main objective of the conference is, in fact, to give academics, researchers and professionals from the banking and financial world the opportunity to engage in a global discussion on the causes and effects of recent events in financial markets and future trends and research.

Each year, more than 100 economists come together for the two-day event featuring specialist seminars, poster sessions and a final round table attended by representatives of the major European banking institutions, the European Central Bank, cabinet ministers and lecturers from leading universities. This year the round table was chaired by journalist Isabella Bufacchi (Sole24ore deputy editor-in-chief and correspondent from Frankfurt).

Among the many topics covered in this edition under the title "Environmental, Social and Governance Risks", particular focus was placed on the COVID-19 health emergency and its economic and financial impact.

This year's edition presented a new challenge that we rose to with determination by choosing a hybrid mode for the conference, ensuring both online and onsite participation. Guests who have been with us for many years, together with new experts and professionals, had the opportunity to participate live and virtually, taking part equally in the conference and debate. We used a purpose-built platform that could recreate the experience of the conference through continuous interaction and sharing.

Every detail was designed to bring the event in line with the current situation: aspects such as catering, staff and conference kit were chosen and organized to ensure maximum safety for our guests and for the success of the conference.

For the guests in attendance we organized a social dinner in a historic restaurant overlooking the Grand Canal in order to offer them an experience to remember and the opportunity to share in the beauty of Venice in spite of the current health situation.

Nexa, which had organized the first edition of the conference in 2002, was reconfirmed as the official partner of GRETA Associati and Ca' Foscari University Venice also for this nineteenth edition.
