17th International Conference on Credit Risk Evaluation

Conference

The CREDIT conference is an important annual event for economists from around the world working in the area of financial risk management.

The main objective of the conference is to give an opportunity to academics, researchers and professionals in the world of banking and finance to launch a global discussion on the causes and effects of the recent events in financial markets and the prospects and future research in this field of expertise.

Every year, more than 100 economists arrive in Venice to participate in two intense days of work, discussions and poster sessions, culminating with the round table chaired by the well-known journalist and economist Fabrizio Galimberti since the very first edition. Every year, among others, panelists include representatives of the European Central Bank and the most important banking institutes, ministers and professors from the major universities.

The guest of honour of the seventeenth edition was Nobel Prize winner for Economics Robert Merton who, on the morning of Friday 28 September, gave his speech in the Sala del Portego crowded with experts and students.

This year, as the exclusive location for the social dinner, Nexa chose the former Church of Santa Chiara in Murano, where the superb local glassmaking traditionand the magnificent restoration work of the spaces were the background to the evening. A surprise awaited our guests during the pre-dinner cocktail hour: a glass blowing demonstration by a master glassmaker surrounded by authentic works of art.

Nexa, who organized the first edition of the conference in 2002, was once again confirmed as the official partner of GRETA Associates and Ca' Foscari University Venice starting from the tenth edition in 2011.
